Socius was founded in Cape Town, South Africa in 2012.
Having always had strong ties to the UK, Socius expanded operations to London in 2015 and has since worked with partners from dozens of countries across the globe.

Chris Campbell

Managing Director

Chris co-founded Socius in 2012 and has spearheaded the team since then. Chris is a Board Governor of Somerset College, a leading independent school in South Africa, and is a former member of the Alumni Advisory Board for the University of Cape Town. He is passionate about helping schools communicate effectively to build win-win relationships with donors, volunteers, parents and community stakeholders. After hours he is passionate about investing in entrepreneurs and has spoken about early stage investing at conferences in Europe, Africa, and the Americas.

David Jenkins

Operations Director

David read for a Masters Degree in Marketing on the back of receiving international recognition for the contribution his Honours thesis made to understanding marketing around major global sport events. He has overseen the strategy development and execution for numerous community-building projects and hundreds of email campaigns since joining Socius. Based in London, he enjoys trips to Twickenham, visiting his family’s finca in rural Spain and seeing donors and volunteers respond positively to good communication.

Geoffrey Forbes

Business Development Manager

Geoff is Chair of the Smuts Hall Alumni Association, an Old Residents organisation at the University of Cape Town which stands out among Africa’s foremost alumni affinity groups. He is driven by the dynamic challenge of bringing Socius solutions to a variety of clients with highly diverse organisations and circumstances. Spending his childhood in four different countries across Africa, Europe and Latin America, Geoff’s interests range from painting and making music, to playing football and exploring Cape Town’s wonderous mountains.

Jane Pendry

Senior Coaching Consultant

Starting her career as a teacher, Jane was soon drawn into the world of external relations where she has established herself as a highly reputable figure in the alumni relations and development industry, most recently serving as Head of Development at Dragon School Oxford. Jane applies her wealth of experience to getting more out of external relations teams around the UK through the Socius Solutions Driven Coaching process. Jane is passionate about helping people fulfill their best hopes and dreams; a passion which she brings to life through neuro-linguistic programming, hypnotherapy, and coaching.
